SYNOPSIS

Odete Pais is a matriarch from Trás-os-Montes. More than that, she is “the grandmother.”
She grew up in the countryside, and it was there that she put down roots, in a village in the Portuguese interior. She lives in the house she built with her own hands, after a lifetime of fighting against patriarchal oppression. Through routines and sayings, wrinkles and expressions, an ode to nostalgia, to women's struggles, to the maternal figure is born.
